John Harrod Kentucky Fiddle Music
Description
The collection is comprised of two-hundred (200) audio field recordings and eighty eight (88) video recordings of interviews and performances documenting the repertoire and playing styles of several dozen Kentucky fiddlers, banjo players and singers. The audio and video recordings were made over several years’ time (1970-1990) by John Harrod (b. 1946), an able musician and one of the leading documenters of older style traditional music in Kentucky, particularly its strong fiddle tradition.
Also included in the collection are photographs of performers and a transcript of an interview of Darley Fulks recorded by John Harrod. (Tapes JH-CT-101-008 / 009).
