Nat Reese was born in Salem Virginia in 1924 Since 1936 he has spent most his life in Wyoming County, West Virginia Reese has worked as a musician and artist most his life as well a coal miner and a commercial sign painter He received West Virginia's highest folklife honor, the Vandalia Award, at the Vandalia Festival in Charleston, WV in 1995
