Fiddler James William Day (1875-1942) was born in Rowan County, Kentucky He played left handed in the 'upside down' fashion He changed his name to Jilson Setters at the urging of his manager Jean Thomas and was a frequent performer at her American Folk Festival held for many years in Ashland, Kentucky
